Our Buying and Procurement team have been working behind the scenes with our designers to curate 4 new furniture collections. We sat down with our dedicated team, Rupinder Gohil, Sabrina Phull and Joanna Murray, to learn more about the trends behind each collection.
Rupinder, what were the biggest interior trends that inspired the collections?
A clear trend we saw from the shows we visited in Paris and Stockholm was that the colour palettes had become more muted and softer in tone in comparison to the previous year. Greys and bright pops of colour such as forest greens and electric blues have been replaced with off whites, creamy beiges and tans paired with contrasting olive greens and hints of turmeric.
Texture is a key trend you can see throughout the collections, with contrasting fabrics such as soft boucle, cottons, linens, leathers, and velvets. The upholstery was much softer in both colourway but also form, with soft rounded edges and comfortable seating emulating the organic aesthetic.
When it came to curating our new collections, we knew we wanted to incorporate these fresh new trends and create collections that overall felt classic and neutral but with exclusive elements that made each look unique.
Joanna, can you tell us more about the exclusive furniture pieces?
These collections are packed with exclusive items designed in close collaboration with our talented and trusted suppliers. Our entire artwork collection is fully exclusive to Knight Frank Interiors, each piece has been designed around the 4 different artists to offer a variety of options. We have been working hard with our suppliers to making a conscious effort in reducing our furniture footprint. As a result, we are excited to share that all of our artwork has been designed by an array of local artists as well as being fitted with handcrafted frames made from sustainable wood finishes.
Our exciting new upholstery and beds are all exclusively made in the Cotswolds by a team of skilled and well-experienced craftspeople, providing the very best of British quality. Not only that, as the quality of our furniture is never compromised, we offer a lifetime guarantee on all upholstery!
Not only are our bedside tables and chests of drawers are exclusive, they are also packaged with approximately 80% recyclable packaging and slowly but surely, we are influencing our supply chain to update their packaging materials to be fully recyclable as we continue to diminish our furniture footprint. Lastly, one of our favourite exclusive ranges is our unique rugs, which consists of a capsule collection of neutral handwoven wool rugs, manufactured by highly skilled artisans.
Sabrina, who do you provide the design-led turnkey service to?
Our furniture collections are specifically tailored towards landlords, developers, and investors; however, they are available for everyone and anyone to purchase. We have designed each package with all of the geographical locations within and around London in mind, meaning there is a collection to suit each postcode on every budget! We also offer premium upgrades within our hampers, including luxury bed packs and kitchen & electrical packs.
What is the teams favourite collection and why?
This is hard as we love all 4 of our new collections! We love the new take on the industrial look in Hume, featuring black woods and metal, replacing the walnut and oak woods seen all over industrial trends previously. We included a tan leather feature chair with a structural metal frame and rusty orange dining chairs to add some subtle colour.
But if we had to pick one, Parker is the collection we would have to say is our favourite. The furniture really captures the latest trends, with the subtle yet elegant tone on tone hues. This collection also features our favourite wavy headboard and the already very popular cosy boucle chair.
