Behind Knight Frank Interiors we have a team who share many secret talents outside their passion for interiors. We caught up with Senior Business Development Manager, Genevieve Levy to discuss her role at Knight Frank Interiors and also her admiration for cooking. Over summer she has been supporting The Plattery’s, Vital Meals, a non-profit organisation which has helped vulnerable people across London.
Can you tell us more about your role as a Senior Business Development Manager?
On a day to day basis, I will be running around on site, having client meetings. And popping into the Knight Frank offices for my North and East Region. When I get a chance to sit down, I will be answering the phone and creating quotes, the project could be our Curated Furniture Packages service in Canary Wharf or a luxury interior designed house in Maida Vale.
What is your favourite Knight Frank Interiors project?
My favourite project which we have recently completed is our Dress for Sale project, Shawfield Street. We’ve not revealed it just yet but be sure to keep your eyes out on our Instagram. It is a lovely mix of a cosy country home in the heart of Central London.
Another of my favourite luxury interior design projects is Princelet Street. This was a really interesting and unique development, it had so much character and large windows as it was historically used as artists’ studios. The current vendors were artists themselves, therefore we tailor-made the design to utilise some of their collections which elevated the scheme seamlessly.
How do you like to spend your time when you’re not working?
From a young age, I have really enjoyed cooking. On my gap year, I worked as a chalet host in Zermatt which I followed up with a yacht season in the Cote D’Azur. Whilst working for Knight Frank Interiors I have dabbled in the odd weekend away cooking but have focused my time generally on interiors and my friends.
Over summer, I got in touch with Ayesha Pakravan-Ovey who owns The Plattery. We have worked with her on numerous events such as our luxury show home Chelsea Waterfront II, in association with Accouter. During the initial lockdown, Ayesha started up Vital Meals and I was working with her and the other lovely volunteers Jamie and Stephen, over the summer to create free, delicious and nutritious meals, for vulnerable children across London.
Can you tell us about Vital Meals?
This initiative started when Ayesha realised a lot of vulnerable people were unable to get their necessary supplies at the beginning of the pandemic. However, being a professional caterer, she had access to places where she could buy in bulk and help these people. Initially, she was delivering 10 meals per week, this has now increased to up to 1000 meals, which is really incredible. Boris Johnson was so impressed that he awarded her the Points of Light award.
Ayesha is currently hoping to raise more money so that she can continue to deliver to these people, head to her website to see how you can contribute to the amazing cause. During the summer she also started a cookery school for children, teaching them to make healthy versions of the food they love from scratch.
