At Knight Frank Interiors, it’s great to see how the team have been adapting to continue delivering world-class interior designs across the globe. This is a challenge our Business Development Manager, Munni Bains successfully overcomes to keep connected with her ever-growing international clients. We caught up with Munni to discuss her busy role within the New Homes team and how she’s overcoming those COVID-19 hurdles.

Describe your day as a Business Development Manager at Knight Frank Interiors

I’m fortunate to have a client following that stretches across land and sea. As a result, my working day usually starts with phone calls and meetings, currently held virtually, with my clients that live in countries with time zones ahead of ours. I’m very big on ‘to-do lists’ so an inbox cleanse is also necessary first thing to make sure nothing goes amiss, and anything urgent is addressed.

As cliché as it sounds, there really is no two-working days that are the same, and I absolutely love it! My everyday tasks involve preparing new proposals for clients, talking through our design-led turnkey furniture collections and our Luxury Interior and Show Homes services lines and confirming final inventories. I work closely with our Project Management team who oversee the installation of our tailor-made furniture packages. I also work closely with Knight Frank’s Customer Care team who are a dedicated department for the UK and International purchasers of New Homes.

I’ll also be out on site at developments across London that we’re working on, making sure that our offering is always tailored to not only the location and development as a whole, but the individual spaces that I’m proud to assist in furnishing.

How do you tailor the experience for your clients?

It all starts with a conversation, either a phone call or meeting. Something I feel is really valued and instilled across all people at Knight Frank Interiors is our personal touch. With turnkey solutions, it’s not just ‘here are our options, let me know your choice’, we tailor the experience to desire to the imagined homeowner. We discuss who will be living in the property, their lifestyles, and will they have any personal use of the property themselves. I want to help our clients utilise all spaces within their property, so I want to know everything!

We offer six Design-Led Turnkey Furniture Packages across three price points, in addition to a bespoke Interior Design Service, so there really is something for everyone.

Once I understand their requirements, I will then guide clients through not only our recommendations but tenant demographics in the area should they be an investor and how these marry up with our suggested options. This is then followed by feedback received from the Knight Frank offices associated with their property covering the demand for furnishing solutions, previous examples within the same development or neighbouring locations, and so much more.

Working in partnership with Knight Frank, we have the ability to share a unique knowledge with our clients, comprising of both interior design and property together. It’s remarkable how much they correlate with one another, and it is always refreshing to see clients gain a thorough understanding of our tailor-made service offering and the industry as a whole.

What is the most challenging aspect of your role?

With the lion-share of my clients based abroad I definitely feel not being able to meet with them as frequently as I would wish, and more so in recent months, is one of my biggest challenges.

However, the wonderful and ever-growing virtual world has helped to bridge those gaps and keep us connected. Ordinarily, we would fly out to our international centres such as Hong Kong for a few days and host back to back meetings or join property exhibitions. Still, we’re able to continue that virtually, and it’s been very well received!

What projects are in the pipeline for new homes?

It’s all happening! We’re super excited to return to Kings Cross after fantastic results on their previous phases, and now with their latest phase Luma. We’re on-site here over the next few weeks. Further developments we’re working on in the lead up to Christmas and start of 2021 include Postmark, The Denizen and South Quay Plaza.

How do you like to spend your weekend?

This question has definitely changed in the last few months as a reflection of the times we’re in. Catching up with family and friends, whichever way is possible is definitely the larger part of my Saturday. I try and include a long walk where I can, and love to get on with a bit of cooking. I’ve recently tried exploring dishes outside of my comfort zone and safe to say no casualties…yet! Sunday is almost always a movie, some good food, self-care and a good snooze!
