Our Associate Director, Sabrina is a leading force within our team, ensuring we work with the very best furniture crafts people in the industry. Now living in Dubai, we caught up with Sabrina to find out more about her new role, the importance of having an international presence and what life is like in Dubai.

Congratulations on your promotion to Associate Director, can you tell us about your new role?

I have recently taken on an exciting hybrid role. Whilst still being heavily involved within our Buying & Procurement department, I am now also focusing on helping to grow our international presence out in Dubai. I’m fortunate to work with all of our internal departments and I have regular Zoom meetings with the team back in the UK to ensure everything is kept up to date. As well as the team, a key part of my role is to stay connected with our trusted suppliers and work on building relationships with the market in the UAE.

My role can vary from day to day but that is something I find most interesting. Although it can be very structured with overseeing and forecasting stock, there is always something that crops up which is a new challenge.

How are Knight Frank Interiors working towards being a more inclusive interior design company?

There’s so much we’re doing internally because it’s extremely important to us to become a more inclusive interior design company. We have been updating our DEI pledge which we are continuing to develop throughout the rest of the year. In association with Accouter, and in partnership with United in Design, we have also welcomed our Apprentice, Awa, into the team!

How important do you think it is to have an international presence right now?

Having held the 2020 Expo, the Dubai property market is booming. In addition to this, the rise of remote working has also helped the market, and the need for making your home a thoughtful environment has never been bigger. In association with Accouter, we have already began working on building our international presence with our recent design project at The Royal Atlantis Residences. As we continue to take on more projects in Dubai, we can connect with new suppliers and clients as well as making stronger relationships with our current ones.

It must be incredible to work in Dubai, what is it like living out there?

I’m very fortunate and grateful to work internationally and honestly, I can’t complain. It definitely makes the day better by starting with a swim in the sunshine and working with a view of the ocean. To settle in I have been exploring what’s on offer in the city and the list is never-ending! I would certainly recommend doing the desert safari, Sonara Camp, the rolling dunes are beautiful in the beaming sunlight. Anyone who visits has to go to the tallest building in the world, The Burj Khalifa, you can’t beat the view from above. Whilst you’re there stop by the Dubai Fountains or the biggest observation wheel in Dubai.

If you’re looking for something more relaxed, there are some great exclusive beach clubs like Twiggy Beach, Drift, Ula or West Beach, where you can wine and dine in delicious restaurants whilst enjoying the sunshine!
