Despite our favourite social destinations reopening, due to restrictions many of us are still choosing to entertain from the safety of our homes. Our elite team of interior designers have shared their top tips to creating a sociable entertaining environment.
Home Bar
We’ve all missed our beloved cocktail lounges to socialise in, but have you ever thought about bringing the bar to you? Use clever pieces of joinery to recreate the bespoke hidden bar from our Chelsea Waterfront II scheme.
Disguise the joinery as a piece of art by day whilst transforming the space to host at night. Situate the bar close to the dining table so you can easily serve and entertain your guests simultaneously.
Al Fresco
Utilise your garden for entertaining at home. As seen in our Boscobel Place project, an exquisite open-air sanctuary with a retractable roof crafts a natural extension to the interior space, allowing you to enjoy whatever the weather.
Create a luxurious environment by featuring marble and gold detailing through light fittings and upholstered accessories, complimented by a serene neutral colour palette. Make the space inviting by carefully situating furniture in different corners of the room, all facing a centralised entertaining spot.
Open Plan
Open plan living is by far the most sociable layout you can have within your home. Create zones to allow you to enjoy those different moments throughout your evening. By using a continuous colour palette throughout, you have the ability to join the areas cohesively together without the need for a physical divider.
Add an artistic feature light above the dining table, as seen in our Chelsea Waterfront I scheme, to brighten the area whilst you socialise over dinner. Finish the evening by creating a secluded seating area around a coffee table for the all-important night cap. By positioning the sofa away from the dining table, this acts as the seamless divide between the two zones- creating the tranquil setting to unwind in.
