The team recently sat down with Knight Frank Partner and Head of the Marylebone, Fitzrovia & Bloomsbury Residential Office Christian Lock-Necrews. We have worked with Christian home staging several properties including Chiltern Street and Mansfield Street. With over 15 years’ experience within the property industry Christian discusses his busy role, how a property benefits from being dressed by Knight Frank Interiors as well as some delicious restaurant recommendations in Marylebone.
Can you tell us more about your role as Head of the Marylebone, Fitzrovia & Bloomsbury Residential Office?
I work with a team of 12 talented individuals at our Marylebone office, where we provide both sales and lettings services. We are essentially an independent local estate agent with the benefit of a global brand and network behind us helping access all corners of London, the UK, and International markets. I work closely with the Knight Frank’s New Homes teams, helping with the marketing and selling of Marylebone and Fitzrovia’s finest new developments.
What makes a property stand out from the crowd to you?
This is a great question, as I have been very fortunate to see countless incredible properties and a huge variety of styles in my 15 years of experience. I would summarise 3 key elements: Inspiring architecture, whether it is a listed classic, or a contemporary masterpiece, you simply must have great fundamentals. Good light, large windows, high ceilings and layouts.
How does a property benefit from being dressed by Knight Frank Interiors?
Simply put, people fall in love with their eyes first, and Knight Frank Interiors understand how to make a space work to its optimum potential as well as it is often the difference in achieving a sale.
Where is your favourite restaurant in the Marylebone area to go for lunch or dinner?
Il Blandford’s for a cosy local Italian, Zayna for exceptional North Indian/Pakistani cuisine, and Doorsteps as an excellent value local sandwich and coffee shop. Marylebone has a brilliant variety of cuisines it’s hard to pick just one!
How have you found working during the pandemic and the new schedules of working from home?
I would think like most people it was hard to come to terms with at first, and then personally I have felt grateful to be in an industry that has remained open for business. It has been a juggling act with kids and other elements of life, but it’s worked, and there will be lessons we have learned from it. Sometimes working from home is unquestionably useful, but I think we will all be grateful to work with colleagues more closely again and discuss business in real time including the team at Knight Frank Interiors.
