The team recently caught up with Sam Sproston, Knight Frank Partner for Wandsworth. The food enthusiast talks about his role at Knight Frank as well as his favourite restaurants to try out once lockdown is over.
What excites you most about your role as a Partner at Knight Frank?
I am very fortunate to work with a great team of people, within my office and also across the firm. What excites me is the amazing variety each day brings and being able to help clients achieve their objectives is also very rewarding.
What has been your favourite project to work on with Knight Frank Interiors and why?
A house on St. James’s Drive. We sold it to our clients 12 years ago and it is always special to resell a home. It proves they liked dealing with you the first time! In this instance, our clients bought a larger house locally and vacated before we had found a buyer. As the house was empty, we recommended home staging the property with Knight Frank Interiors to help increase viewings. The design-led turnkey furniture package that was chosen made the house look fantastic and helped us secure a buyer within a month after it was dressed.
How does a property benefit from being dressed by Knight Frank Interiors?
The last two homes we have had furnished were empty and so adding the curated furniture packages showed the potential buyers what would go where, helping them envision themselves living within the space. One of the properties existing furniture looked dated within a modern house so updating the interiors complemented the space whilst lifting the overall aesthetic of the property.
We know you’re a dab hand at the cooking from your Instagram, what is your favourite dish to cook?
I find cooking very therapeutic. One of my specialities has to be seafood ravioli. Lobster in homemade ravioli with a prosecco bisque topped with king prawn and caviar. It’s far easier than it sounds and if you want to see how, follow me on @swagent.ss.
Another foodie question, what is your favourite restaurant in South West London?
Trinity in Clapham and Chez Bruce, of course, both with Michelin stars. However, for less formal occasions Soif and Nutbourne in Battersea.
