Located just off London’s respected Kings Road, sits our latest Design-Led Turnkey Furnishing project, Shawfield Street. Before, the tired Chelsea Townhouse had an unusual existing décor and lacked warmth. Working with the unique characteristic features, our designers have entirely transformed the 3-bedroom property into a luxury countryside haven in the heart of Chelsea.
Walking through to the reception area, the team focused on designing two different zones to optimise the space of the room. Appealing to a sophisticated buyer, positioning the contemporary sofa and feature chair around a centred coffee table, the authentic fireplace took centre stage within the space, to create a formal seating area. The ideal spot for a relaxing with friends after dinner.
On the other side of the room, there is a relaxed environment, with an industrial-inspired bar, chair and rattan side table, perfectly positioned for that evening nightcap. Working with the existing joinery, the designers brought the room cohesively together through luxury interior styling, including the complementing accents of berry red, seen in the rug and cushions.
Inspired by Babington House, the guest bedroom features a bespoke teal velvet headboard, instantly creating a statement against the existing bold décor. As a subtle nod to the history of the house, the designers incorporated touches of brass, adding light fumed oak bedside tables with brass accents, working cohesively with the wall lights, an original feature of the property.
The master bedroom was designed as if it was in a luxury boutique hotel room. Continuing the country home aesthetic, the designers used a neutral colour palette, ensuring the unique features of the space captured the eyes of buyers.
“When designing for imagined homeowners, it is important to let the personality of the property and surrounding area shine through. Shawfield Street had existing quirky features which I wanted to enhance through the design. This gave me the opportunity to push the boundaries, mixing a traditional country style with a modern twist appealing to the cultered buyer. It was important for the house to have a new lease of life, whilst letting its heritage shine through.”
